The Natural Ways to Keep Your Hair Healthy
Do you know that rather than spending on those branded shampoos and conditioners, do you know that there are natural ways that you can keep your hair healthy?
Yes, you heard it right and this is what you are about to learn today. Are you excited to know? Then please keep on reading below.
How You Can Keep Your Hair Healthy in a Natural Way
1. Get A Trim At Least Every Six To Eight Weeks
Every hair care expert I asked recommends that you should give yourself a trim at least every 6 to 8 weeks, in this way you will be able to get rid of any dead ends as well as keep your hair in tip-top condition.
I always cut off at least one to two inch of my hair using a professional hair clipper, this is already enough to get rid of split ends. But if you want to keep your hair long, you can try getting layers cut into your hair to eliminate the most damaged parts and at the same time keep the length.
2. Treat It Naturally
Have you heard about egg treatment? If your hair is already too dry or even brittle, you can use egg whites to moisturize it naturally.
To do this, you will need 1/2 cup of egg white; this would be enough to condition your hair. Apply it to your clean, damp hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Then rinse it using cool water.
I know this may sound weird but you have to try this, it is the most effective beauty tips for hair that I have ever tried so far and you get to see the results sooner than expected.
3. Use Heat Less Frequently As Possible
I know this can be a challenging one, especially if you are someone like me who has curly hair and just loves straightening it. But I noticed how my hair has started to show extensive damage after I was using the flatiron almost every day. My hair had plenty of split ends and end up with a slightly crispy look.
So today, I only save the high heat tools for special occasions but if you are really not yet ready to let go then at least use the lowest heat setting as possible. That’s what I always do whenever I used curling iron for my short hair, so I finish quickly and not expose my hair to too much heat.
4. Do Your Own Hot Oil Treatment
Doing your own hot oil treatment at home is an effective way to keep your hair healthy and the best thing is that it is way lot cheaper.
To do this, just wash your hair as usual and towel it dry. Put a small bowl on top of a pot of hot water, then mix 2 tbsp. of coconut oil. If you have dry hair or suffering from dandruff, add 1 tbsp. of olive oil or 1 tbsp. of jojoba oil if you have any fungal scalp problems.
Apply the mixture to your scalp and massage the hot from the roots to the ends. Warm a towel using a hair dryer and then wrap your hair for 20 minutes. Then wash your hair and style it as usual. Doing this once a month will protect the shafts of your hair
Obviously, you have to be gentle with your hair. Avoid using hot water when you are taking a bath. Don’t comb, brush or put your hair in a ponytail when it is not necessary.
Make sure that you will only use good quality shampoos and conditioners. On days that you will not be going out, give your hair a break from all the styling products that you are using such as waxes, gels, and mousses.
